Millstone Township Board of Education

I believe Millstone Township already has every advantage needed to achieve educational excellence. We'll transform these opportunities into exceptional outcomes by listening to the families, teachers, and administrators on the front lines of education in our district. Using data and proven practices from peer districts, we'll create actionable plans with measurable success rates to build upon what is working today. Millstone absolutely can raise test scores to achieve parity with similar districts.

While my opponents, including 2 incumbents, offer a "Common Sense" approach but I believe we need to go above and beyond that. What we have today, while exceeding state and national standards, simply is not working hard enough for our students, parents & faculty. I know we can do better. My plan offers a concrete, tangible and achievable 3 point plan focused on challenges we face today:

Under New Jersey's S-2 funding formula, Millstone has a projected total loss of $2.1M through 2025, requiring tax increases and/or program cuts.

Declining enrollment threatens long-term fiscal sustainability. The township's aging population and steady population decline since 2010 forecast future enrollment challenges.

High attrition numbers like these can serve as the "canary in the coal mine" signaling challenges in the district making it harder to attract and retain future talent.

While we are blessed with extraordinary community wealth, committed families, a substantial per-pupil investment, solid academic outcomes that exceed state and national averages... we can and should be doing better.
